The teething process in babies generally starts around the 6th month and can be challenging for both the baby and the family. Your baby may be more restless than usual during this period.
Most Common Symptoms
Although teething symptoms vary for each baby, common signs include:
- Excessive drooling and resulting redness around the chin.
- Constantly putting hands in the mouth and the urge to bite.
- Mild fever (not exceeding 38 degrees Celsius) and sleeplessness.
What Can Be Done to Relieve Pain?
Chilled (refrigerated, not frozen) teethers reduce swelling in the gums. Massaging the gums with a clean finger by applying gentle pressure is also soothing. If necessary, painkillers recommended by a doctor can be used.
