The design of the environment where your baby sleeps must not only be aesthetic but also meet vital safety standards. Safe sleep rules greatly reduce the risk of SIDS.
In-Bed Safety Rules
The inside of the crib should be as empty as possible.
- No Pillows: Babies do not need pillows until they are 2 years old.
- Remove Toys: Plush toys and thick quilts create a suffocation risk. Choose a sleeping bag instead.
- Mattress Firmness: A medium-firm orthopedic mattress where the baby will not sink in should be selected.
Room Conditions
The humidity of the room should be between 40-60%. The crib should not be placed in direct sunlight or under an air conditioner. The baby must always be placed on their back to sleep.
