The common complaint in today's fast pace is: "I don't have enough time." Between work life, household chores, and child/elderly care, there is no time left for personal care and rest. Managing time is actually managing your energy.
Prioritization with the Eisenhower Matrix
Divide your to-do list into these 4 categories:
- Urgent and Important: Do it yourself immediately. (e.g., Child's medication time).
- Important but Not Urgent: Schedule when you will do it. (e.g., Going to the gym).
- Urgent but Not Important: Delegate it to someone else. (e.g., Ordering groceries online or asking a spouse).
- Not Urgent and Not Important: Eliminate it from your life. (e.g., Aimlessly scrolling through social media).
Make an Appointment with Yourself
Write not only business meetings in your calendar but also a "30-minute coffee and book" hour dedicated to yourself. Letting go of perfectionism and learning to ask for help from others (a caregiver or cleaning staff) will give you back your most valuable asset: time.
